01Who we are
Laureate is a research platform built for behavioral and social scientists. It is operated by Hayden Sliger, an individual doing business as Laureate. References to "Laureate," "we," or "us" in these terms refer to Hayden Sliger.
02Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Laureate. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you become aware of any unauthorized access, contact us immediately at hayden.laureate@gmail.com. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon request, we will delete your data within 30 days of account closure.
03What Laureate is and is not
Laureate provides AI-assisted tools to support research workflows, including IRB protocol review, study design, pilot simulation, paper review, and grant writing assistance. Laureate is a decision-support tool. It does not replace the judgment of a qualified researcher, IRB committee, institutional review board, journal editor, or funding body. Outputs generated by Laureate may contain inaccuracies and should not be relied upon without independent verification. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any materials you submit to a funding body, journal, IRB, or institution.
04Your content
You retain ownership of all research materials, protocols, and content you submit to Laureate. By submitting content, you grant Laureate a limited license to process and store that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your research content to train AI models. We do not sell your content or share it with third parties except as required to operate the service (such as transmitting content to the Anthropic API for processing).
05Acceptable use
You agree to use Laureate only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not: use Laureate to submit false, fraudulent, or fabricated research materials to any institution, journal, or funding body; attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or reproduce Laureate's proprietary systems or AI prompts; share your account credentials with others; use Laureate in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
06Pricing and payment
Laureate is currently in early access and pricing is subject to change. Specific pricing terms, billing cycles, and cancellation policies will be communicated before any payment is required. We will not charge you without providing clear notice of applicable fees in advance.
07Availability and changes
We aim to keep Laureate available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Where material changes affect your use of the platform, we will provide reasonable notice.
08Disclaimer of warranties
Laureate is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness of the platform or its outputs for any particular purpose.
09Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laureate's liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you have paid to Laureate in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.
10Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Continued use of Laureate after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
